The Liver Cleansing Diet
Everything you need to know to start your liver cleansing diet while following the basic diet plan. The liver is one of the most active organs in the body. Eat this Carrot Salad every day for your Liver Cleansing Diet!
Take one cup of very finely chopped carrots or carrot pulp. The carrots should be shredded to a mushy consistency with a food processor or fine grater, or you can use the carrot pulp left over from making carrot juice. If the pulp seems to dry, moisten it with a little carrot juice. Combine 1 tablespoon of olive oil with 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice. (you may add more lemon or olive oil, but not less.) Pour over the carrot pulp or grated carrots as a dressing and mix well. If you like, add pineapple or raisins to taste. Eat this salad every day for seven days. If you miss a day, you must begin all over again. This salad is very helpful in cleansing the liver.
Eat one to two cups of vegetable broth each day for your Liver Cleansing Diet!
2-3 cups chopped green beans
2-3 cups chopped zucchini
2-3 stalks of celery, chopped
1 Tbsp. chopped parsley
Steam green beans, zucchini, and celery in water until soft, but still green. Put the vegetables in a blender and puree’ until smooth. The broth should be fairly think. Add butter and chopped parsley. Season to taste.
Season with ginger, cayenne, herbs, garlic, or vegetables broth as desired.
Drink two glasses of Green Drink each day to your Liver Cleansing Diet!
Make one cup of green juice from any green vegetables. Suggested vegetables include beet tops, spinach, parsley, zucchini, kale, cucumbers, green leafy lettuce, dandelion leaves, collard greens, and wheatgrass. Add to your green drink mixture an equal part of a mild-tasting juice like carrot, apple, tomato, or pineapple. (Not recommended drinking green juices straight because they are too strong and can be irritating to the throat.) It is high in chloropyhll, which is said to help detoxify the body and cleanse the blood.
Drink three ounces of beet juice each day to your Liver Cleansing Diet!
If you have ore than three ounces per day when you begin the liver cleansing diet, you may cleanse your body a little faster than you want. After the first couple of days, you can increase the amount of beet juice one ounce at a time.
