His weekly column in The Mail on Sunday has over three million readers and the mail bag is heavy with people enquiring about everything from how to get off pain-killers to coping with chemotherapy.
Doctor Mosaraf Ali a trained physician doesn’t use prescription drugs or surgery to cure your ills, instead he uses an unorthodox combination of conventional medicine and alternative therapies that have stirred controversy in England where he practices. Dr Ali believes that 80% ailments can be cured with change in lifestyle, and with a programme of diet, massage, yoga and relaxation. For example, a part of his massage technique involves improvement of blood flow to the subconscious brain, the centre for spontaneous a self-healing.
Dr. Ali studies his patients eyes called Iridology(see info below), but Dr. ali says “I don’t go just by iridology he checks the pulse, tongue diagnosis, ear diagnosis, then you make an assumption.”
Dr. Oz went on to say that one of Doctor Mosaraf Ali’s most controversial therapies Neck Manipulation which is a special type of massage to the neck. Skeptics argue that Doctor Mosaraf Ali treatments can do more harm than good.
Dr. Oz agreed with Doctor Mosaraf Ali that doctors rely too much on modern technology when Dr. Ali said why should a computer come between a doctor and a patient when a doctor can see the tell tale signs in various parts of the body.
Dr. Oz put Doctor Mosaraf Ali to the test and said he is fascinated by the eyes which are the window to the soul and we see Doctor Mosaraf Ali using the term Iridology, which we can all do by looking at our eyes in the mirror. Oz used eye examples of bulging eyes which could mean a thyroid problem, too much thyroid hormone. A greyish, creamy color in the whites of your eyes could mean too much proteins carrying the cholesterol, which is common in people with high cholesterol. Dr. Oz said f your eyelids are drooping it is a neuromuscular problem.
Dr. Oz said the second way Dr. Ali can evaluate you is by evaluating your tongue, but it is not the way doctors in our country evaluates the tongue. Dr. Ali said the tongue is the mirror of the gastrointestinal tract.
If your tongue is swollen it means your intestinal tract is probably swollen, so Dr. Oz had a few people and their charts and knows what is ailing them by way of western medicine and he puts Dr. Ali to the test so he checks Adrianna’s eyes first, then he looked at her tongue and asked her if she has had any fibroids or cysts in the uterus, and all she could say was “Oh My God Yes”.
Dr. Oz asked her if she had fibroids and as she said “Yes she had a hysterectomy and they found a ton of fibroids”
When Dr. Ali looked at her ear he said it looked like an inverted embryo, the ear lobe is the head, the dent that shapes around the ear where he has the pencil is the spine, and the hollow of the ear lies the organs, kidneys and stomach and all that. and above the diaphragm would be the lungs. Dr. Ali presses the inside of the ear gently with the pencil where the diaphragm would be and said he found some acidity there.
Dr. Oz asked Ali why he said about acidity and he said she had a light coating on the tongue and a ridge around the tongue and apparently the ear confirmed he saw a problem…Adrianna has acid reflux, Dr Ali knew her problems without any medical tests.
Angela was next to be examined he noticed one eye is weaker and asked her if she has a history of headaches, which she answered yes. The he asked her if she had knee problems and the answer was yes. She was diagnosed by her doctor with migraines, and has had her dislocated. He knew she suffered from post nasal drip.
Doctor Mosaraf Ali told Angela as soon as the headaches start particularly on the left side for her to start massaging in front of her ears. The point in front of the ear where when you open your jaw it clicks, plus avoid ice cream and cheese.
Dr. oz said “I want to applaud Doctor Mosaraf Ali because these are ancient traditions and they have been around for centuries so who am I to dismiss them.”
Oz thanked Doctor Mosaraf Ali for his visit to the United States.
I know I am a believer in Doctor Mosaraf Ali!

Iridology (also known as iridodiagnosis or iridiagnosis is an alternative medicine technique whose proponents claim that patterns, colors, and other characteristics of the iris can be examined to determine information about a patient’s systemic health. Practitioners match their observations to iris charts, which divide the iris into zones that correspond to specific parts of the human body. Iridologists see the eyes as “windows” into the body’s state of health.
Iridologists use the charts to distinguish between healthy systems and organs in the body and those that are overactive, inflamed, or distressed. Iridologists believe this information demonstrates a patient’s susceptibility towards certain illnesses, reflects past medical problems, or predicts later health problems.
As opposed to evidence-based medicine, Iridology is not supported by quality research studies and is widely considered pseudoscience.
